The Salvation Army
Since 1889, The Salvation Army of Greater Houston has responded to the greater needs of the Houston area. With more than 20 Houston area locations, The Salvation Army assists 50,000+ in our community each year.
Since 1865, The Salvation Army meets human needs without discrimination. While they serve 134 countries, just in the United States, 23 million Americans are assisted annually. The Salvation Army will continue to help and grow; currently, they have over 1.8 million members, consisting of officers, soldiers, and adherents.
Through many programs,The Salvation Army strives to meet local needs. While Cooper participates in the Holiday Giving, Angel Tree program, there are other ways you can help:
The Salvation Army has identified four areas of focus:
In December of 2022, Cooper adopted 125 angels from The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. The program ensures children in eligible families have gifts and much needed clothing under the tree on Christmas morning. Children supported range from toddlers to teenagers. Cooper successfully collected all requested toys for this event.
In December of 2023, Cooper adopted 100 angels from The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. The organization fulfilled the wishes of each and every one of our angels, and the organization donated additional toys that were not tied to a specific child.
