Developing accurate, tunable reciprocating compressor models that faithfully reflect O.E.M. safety specifications can be complex. These models must also be intuitive and accessible for a wide range of users, including engineers, operators, automation and controls teams, gas control personnel, data analytics professionals, and management.

Cooper’s ACI Services Division delivers this capability through its proprietary eRCM™ technology. Designed to provide exceptional accuracy, flexibility, and usability, eRCM™ serves as the foundation for many ACI-developed solutions, select O.E.M. software platforms, and other commercial products. This proven technology enables end users with advanced modeling capabilities and seamless interoperability—supporting confident decision-making across engineering, operations, and business functions.

eRCM’s models are based on unit geometries, physics and thermodynamics, as well as each O.E.M.’s unique methods for determining safety. These models are then used as the basis for edge computing device (right there at the compressor, and in the control panel) and for advanced, cloud-based analyses of operations. And, these models are fast, calculating over 300 unique operating points in less than half a second – including dynamic rod loads, pin loads, pin non-reversals, etc. for each throw; pressure-volume maps for each cylinder end; and interstage stage pressures for flow balancing (including support for side streams and even hydrocarbon liquid dropouts).
