ACI Services, a Cooper Machinery Services Division, was established in 1960 as ACI Services, Inc. and based in Cambridge, Ohio. ACI has been a prominent provider of engineered solutions for reciprocating compressors for decades, offering custom compressor cylinders, performance control devices, compressor components, and pulsation control devices, all designed to enhance productivity and operational efficiency for businesses.
Over the decades, ACI Services built a reputation for innovation and customer-centric solutions, underpinned by advanced performance modeling and detailed manufacturing of hardware products. Their commitment to engineering excellence and problem-solving positioned them as leaders in the compression and engine systems market.
In January 2025, Cooper Machinery Services acquired ACI Services, Inc., further solidifying Cooper’s position in the industry. This strategic acquisition integrated ACI’s expertise and product lines into Cooper’s expansive portfolio, aiming to deliver enhanced value to customers in the compression and engine systems sectors.
Cooper’s ACI Services Division offers a comprehensive range of cylinder solutions designed to enhance the performance and reliability of reciprocating compressors. We can build cylinders to your specifications or to match O.E.M. specifications and the new cylinder body can often use existing valves, piston and rod assembly, and packing cases.

A comprehensive suite of unloading devices are available, designed to optimize the performance and efficiency of reciprocating compressors. These devices are crucial for managing compressor capacity and ensuring operational flexibility.
Key offerings include volume and bypass unloading devices, such as front-head fixed volume clearance pockets, MultiPocket™ systems, over-valve fixed volume clearance pockets, pneumatic actuators, and front-head bypass systems, among others.
Functioning, high-performance valves are critical to compressor reliability and efficiency. With extensive experience in diagnosing valve issues, we provide tailored solutions to optimize performance and longevity.
We design and manufacture acoustic attenuation and pulsation control devices that address vibration issues while often reducing pressure losses and improving efficiency.
